What are these sharp pricks of pain in my back?

Cranberry Pie asked: Somedays, when I'm walking, I suddenly receive these sharp pricks of pain in my back. It feels as if there is a needle stabbing me in the back. It feel like a muscle pain and it only happens from time to time. What could it be?
